Forgot to Mention...

How could I forget!! I will be a brand new Aunt next Wednesday :) My sister-n-law, Elizabeth, is being induced to have Avery Claire Daniel on November 5th. I am so excited to meet her! Above is a picture of Liz and I at my baby tea...we are exactly 8 weeks apart. On top of meeting Avery, Chad and I will get to check out the birthing suites at Trinity since Liz and I use the same doctor. Hopefully that will take a little bit of the mystery out of where we are supposed to go when I either get induced or go into labor.
I will be sure to post pictures of my sweet niece!!

30 Weeks!

I am 30 weeks pregnant this week :)
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I have really enjoyed being pregnant ever since I stopped throwing up...sometimes I wonder if I'll miss feeling him kick around in my stomach after he is born? Right now, it's like I am the only one in the world (besides his Maker) that knows him so well. I know his sleeping patterns, I know when he's awake, I know when he's asleep, I know when he has the hiccups...the list goes on. But on the other hand, I can't wait for him to meet Chad and all the other wonderful family and friends I am blessed with.

He is going to LOVE Chad. I know it. I had a dream last night that he looked exactly like Chad when he came out...and that will be fine with me if that is the case ; ) Actually, I would prefer it...I think boys are adorable when they look like their Daddy.

So yesterday I had my normal 2-week Dr. appointment. I realized early yesterday that I didn't receive a "reminder" call the day before to inform me of my appointment the next day, so I called in a few hours before my appointment to verify....aaannnnndddd, they did not have me down! I had a card though! It said the date and time of my appt., and I told the nurse I come every 2 weeks now...and she said if I had card to come on in.
Apparently they have a new girl putting the schedules in the computer...
But, I actually got in and out a whole lot quicker than the last appointment, so I didn't complain :)
Nothing exciting happened at this appointment, peed in a cup, + 3lbs (about 20lbs in all), blood pressure good, Carter's heartbeat good, and measuring on time, see them again in 2 weeks.
Dr. Maddox told me it was all down hill from here, let's hope that's true!

I got Tagged...

I got tagged to name 7 random facts about myself you may or may not know...

1. When I eat swiss cake rolls I have to take the skin off first and eat it before I eat the cake part.

2. I am OCD about flossing, if I don't floss before I go to bed it drives me insane, and if I run out of floss and don't have an extra pack then I freak.

3. This is one some of you already know and make fun of me for...I count down in my head before I pee (You know, like "5, 4, 3, 2, 1...."). I don't know why...I think I started it when I used to get stage fright in bathrooms that were perfectly silent...weird, I know!

4. I have terrible vision! My contact prescription is -3.50 and -3.75. I can barely see my hand in front of my face when I don't have my contacts in or glasses on.

5. When I was little I busted my chin open on a water slide at Ship Wreck Island in Panama City. My mom told me it was time to go and I could only slide one more time, so after I slid I turned around and tried to crawl back up the slide to do it again (keep in mind this is a "water" slide and I am barefooted) and I slipped and fell right on my chin. I had to be held down at the emergency room while they put stitches in my chin... this taught me the following lessons.... A. Not to disobey my parents, and B. Not to be stupid enough to climb up a water slide.

6. I can proudly say I have found a brand of mascara that has lasted me almost a whole year!....for those of you who are curious as to what this brand is: Telescopic Mascara by L'oreal

7. One night when Chad came to bed he said I was asleep with my arms forced straight up in the air. Just FYI, this is not a normal occurance, just a one time thing...I'm guessing I was dreaming! Didn't want you to think I was too weird ;)

I'm probably not going to tag anyone else to do this...most of my bloggies have already done it!
But if you are reading this and haven't done it on your own blog, I highly suggest it, it's fun!

New Do..

I finally got a new haircut...and color! I use to wear my hair like this all the time when Chad and I were dating. I love it, it is so much easier to fix and it feels so much better, not to mention Chad is a big fan as well. It's nice to be blonde again.
I really haven't colored my hair since before I got pregnant and my natural color was growing out...and it was so silky that all it did was stick straight to my head and I couldn't do anything with it except pull it back.
I'm super excited about it and I look forward to fixing it every morning...I hope Carter will like it ;)

Carter's Tea

I had an awesome baby tea! I am so thankful to everyone who came and all the girls that helped throw me this shower, it was great! I got so much stuff, I am still sorting through all of it :)
(There is another new post below....)

Lakin' It

Whew! it has been a while since I blogged...sorry! The weeks have been jam packed and I am just now finding the time to upload some pictures from my camera.
Last Saturday the boys went up to the lake to fish and later that day Kerri and I came up to eat dinner and to hang out with the family at Mom and Dad's. Below are some pictures of our time on the pier...

Happy Fall!

I just had to put this picture up of our Bunko group. We had Halloween Bunko last night, and during the Bunko in October we always have a Halloween costume contest. I went as "White Trash", so if you look at the picture I am the second one from the left sporting the pink tank that shows off the belly and the curlers and a cigarette! I came in second place...Kerri-tha ganksta, came in first. It was rightly deserved, she looked hilarious!! Here is an up close picture of her costume...

I might add a better picture of my costume, but don't count on it...I was pretty embarrassed!

I had another Doctor appointment yesterday...my time in the back was relatively quick, but apparently my Dr.'s office either double books appointments in the afternoon, or Dr. Maddox just gets behind, because every time I have had an afternoon appointment, I have to wait ridiculous periods of time. My appointment was at 2:45 (I got there at 2:30), and I didn't leave until 4:15!!
Just as a run down, here is what all we did: Pee in a cup, got weighed (+ 2lbs), blood pressure...."go back and sit in the waiting room please"...sit for 15 minutes...got sent back to a room....sit for 15 minutes.... Dr. Maddox came in, listened to Carter's heartbeat, measured my stomach, asked me if I had any questions...and said everything looked good and she would see me in 2 weeks....sent me to a nurse to get a flu shot...sit for 5 minutes...got flu shot and checked out. Pretty uneventful, but I am happy that everything sounded and measured well. I feel as if I'm getting bigger by the second, but I'm sure that is to be expected ; )
On a side note, I have never had a flu shot so painful in my life! It didn't really hurt when she gave it to me, but by about 5:00, my whole arm was killing me, and last night I must have slept on it wrong because I woke up with numb fingers and the injection spot was throbbing. It's a little better this morning, but still sore.
Sunday is my baby tea, and I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I can't wait to get my hands on all that cute baby stuff, and start to get Carter's room organized. I am absolutely humbled by all my sweet friends and family who are taking time out of their own schedules and throwing me this tea, I thank the Lord because I am more than blessed!
My sweet sisters are throwing me a necessities shower at the beginning of December, and I am looking forward to that too!

No News=Good News

I haven't had a phone call from my Doctor's office since I had my blood sugar screen last Wednesday- they said they would call me if I failed...so I'm guessing I'm good to go! Yay! My next appointment will be next Tuesday.

Unexpected trip to the doctor...

Good grief. So it's Friday, I come to work, I'm sitting here at my desk and I notice that the right side of my lower lip is tingling...after a few minutes my cheek started tingling and then it starts becoming numb-what the heck?! If any of you know me and my hypocondriac-ism, you know that I was freaking out. So I call Dr. Maddox and have to leave a message (of course), and then I call my family doctor and tell them my symptoms and they want to see me right away...great.
I call my mom for some motherly support- no answer. I call Chad and he says that it might be a face cramp- what??!
I tell my boss, I leave, and Chad meets me at the Doctor.
Long story short, they draw blood, take blood pressure, everything looks fine...but she says that I have symptoms of Bells Palsy. Apparently it can come from a viral infection that does something to your facial nerve. She said since I am pregnant I have high levels of cortozone and that may keep it from getting any worse, but it could get worse. The medication they would normally give someone I cannot have since I am pregnant, so I have to take 1 baby aspirin a day instead. From what I know about Bells Palsy, it can cause temporary partial facial paralysis, and there are different severities of it. I am praying that mine doesn't get much worse! I had a friend in college that had it, and his lasted for a couple of months and then went away. The doctor said if I notice my eye or lip starts drooping to call her.
I did, however, look some things up on the internet (also, if you know me this will come to no surprise to you) and found a few things that said Bells Palsy can occur in pregnant women within the last 3 months of their pregnancy.
My family Dr. is going to call my obstetrician and talk it over with her and if they think I need to do anything else they will call me. I was also glad that Chad was able to go with me, he was a huge help with keeping my mind off it..
So, there is my unexpected trip to the doctor story...I am back at work, a little relieved and glad it is Friday :)

Praise!

Praise!! I had my appointment this morning and went in for my ultrasound, and sure enough my placenta had moved up :)
Thank you to everyone who prayed for us, and praise God for hearing our prayers. I know it wasn't a HUGE deal, it was a situation that could be managed, but it still made me nervous.
As for Carter, we got some new pictures and he is precious. I will post them once I get them scanned at church tonight, so be checking back for those.
At the ultrasound we checked and made sure that he was still a boy...and he is ;) and we got a good profile picture, a picture of his fingers, and a good picture of his mouth and nose. He also looks like he is getting kind of squashed in there because he had his legs drawn up against him, but it was cute seeing his limbs all curled up.
I had to do the blood sugar test where you have to drink this really sugary drink that tasted like a tangy Sunkist. It wasn't great, but it wasn't so horrible I couldn't keep it down. About an hour after drinking that they took my blood and said they would call me if I failed- hopefully I passed, so crossing my fingers for no phone call :)
I now go to the doctor every 2 weeks instead of once a month; I am pumped about that. I love my Dr. appointments, first of all because I love my Doctor and second of all because I love to see how he is growing....on a third note though, I do hate to see how much weight I've gained each time...we are crossing into numbers I have never seen on a scale before and I must say I don't like it! I guess that's all part of it.
I've gained 16 lbs total...but keep in mind I did lose about 6 lbs from morning sickness in the beginning, so I guess I've officially only gained 10lbs.
Before I left Dr. Maddox gave me a huge bag of goodies; it had magazines, coupons, samples, and a bottle cooler in it, fun!
I think I have officially told you everything that happened at this appointment, so be looking for pictures of Carter, I will post them ASAP.
