If you think about it...

We have a Dr. appointment coming up on Wednesday...I get another ultrasound, which is great because we get to see Carter again, but there is a reason behind us getting a second ultrasound. When we found out that he was going to be a "Carter", the ultrasound tech noticed that my Placenta was a "little low". Basically, you don't want the Placenta to be too low and cover up "the exit".
Dr. Maddox said that she was not worried and that 99% of the time, as your womb grows the Placenta will move up...so this ultrasound on Wednesday is to check and make sure that it did in fact move on up. If the Placenta did not move up, they will continue to monitor me and I think if it was still low later in the 3rd Trimester they will have to schedule me a C-Section to prevent heavy bleeding and other complications, ect.
Soooo, all this to say, if you think about it, be praying for Chad and I as we have our ultrasound Wednesday. I have been praying about it since about 18 weeks and feel very confident that it is in God's hands, but it never hurts to have others intercede for you :)

A peaceful nights sleep...yeah right.

I have always been a really good sleeper. Once my head hits the pillow, I am GONE! Sometimes I can't even remember getting into bed the next morning because I fell asleep so quickly.
With this pregnancy, sleep has been very different for me. With the first trimester I was waking up at the crack of dawn to hover over the toilet...on into first of the second trimester my sleep patterns got interrupted several times a night for a trip to empty the bladder that Carter is sitting on, and now that I am approaching my third trimester I will have about 2-3 nights a week when sleep is uncomfortable and just not my friend.
Well, last night was one of those nights. I have never slept with so many pillows in my life! We have Chad on one side of the bed sleeping with his gigantic body pillow, and then you have me sleeping with a large pillow on each side of me so that I can make sure I don't roll on my back during the night.
It seems that no amount of pillows can keep my hip from hurting when I'm laying on my side, and most mornings I wake up and I am just sore all over. I wake up every couple of hours to turn to the next side to see if I can get situated, but with my stomach getting bigger, there is not a position that is very comfortable. Not to mention the leg cramps that send you flying out of bed! Oh and get this, the other night, Chad said I snored all night long... I have NEVER snored in my life-ha! I have a feeling that this is only the beginning of my sleeping problems and I am coming to the realization that this is my body preparing me for the little person that is about to be keeping me up for hours on end here in a few short months...

Stay at Home Mom

At the beginning of August I had make the hard announcement to my Manager and co-workers that I wouldn't be returning back to work after Carter came. It has probably been the easiest yet hardest decision Chad and I have ever made...does that make sense? I guess it doesn't really make much sense now that I read over it. Easy in the fact that I know that's what I have wanted to do my whole life is stay at home with my babies, hard in the fact of "can we survive financially"?

God has really given me a peace about the decision and has opened some doors for me to make some extra money while I'm staying at home. I really feel like we are on the edge of God doing some great things in our life as a family because we are about to enter into a time where we are going to have to put our full trust in Him to take care of us; and even now before I have quit my job I am already seeing His provisions for us. I am excited about it. I think it will be really hard sometimes, but I am looking forward to the growth....hopefully when those hard times come I can look back at this blog and remember that I was actually excited about it at one point in time...Ha!

Yesterday at work, they let me know that we did officially have a replacement for me come January, so I was happy that they would be prepared when I leave. One of my biggest concerns was my company, so I was relieved that they found a reliable replacement. They have been so great to work for and it is a Christian company so they are fully supportive of my decision to stay at home. I will probably miss it a little though, but I can visit!

So I am pumped about staying at home and I am looking forward to it! I am going to try to work as long as possible unless the Dr. orders otherwise. Carter is due January 7th, so come the New Year, I will probably go ahead and be done working whether Carter has been born or not. Of course if Chad had it his way, Carter would be here before January 1st so we could get the tax break come April '09... so apparently Chad is seeing our son as a big fat tax deduction...speaking of that, below is a picture of the onesie that Debbie bought us (Chad's Mom), it is perfect, and a picture will be taken of Chad holding Carter wearing this!

Growing.

Here are a few pictures of the growing belly...it has taken about 5 to 6 months for me to really start showing good...and I blame it on my height and these wide hips ;)

4 Weeks:

8 Weeks:

14 Weeks:

17 Weeks:

21 Weeks:

23 Weeks:

25 weeks and counting...

So, this is my first blog. I was a little hesitant to start one, but I enjoy writing, and I wanted a way to be able to post about the pregnancy and Carter, so here goes!

This pregnancy has actually turned out to be quite enjoyable. That is the least I can say for the first 16 weeks....I have never thrown up so much in my life! But it's worth it and I would do it over again in a heartbeat. From about 8 weeks on I knew that he was a boy, I don't really have a reason for leaning that way, I just did. Saying it was a girl or even thinking girl just did not feel right. And my family will tell you that up until 18 weeks, I swore up and down BOY, and I was right ;)

I am 25 weeks today, 2 weeks away from Trimester 3. I absolutely cannot wait to meet Carter. I really want to know what he is going to look like...I think he will be the spitting image of his Daddy, but we'll have to wait and see. The nursery is more than half-way done, there are a few things we still have to do (ie.new blinds, hang curtain, get glider, add shelves and extra pole in his closet, ect). When it's finished I will post some pictures.

I go for my next Dr. Appointment next Wenesday, Oct. 1st, so I should have some good updates then. Chad was able to get off work and go with me and I am super excited about that because we are going to get another ultrasound. I also get to do the dreaded Glucose Test...
